At VINCI Facilities Deutschland, we do not rely on quotas, but instead on self-initiative when it comes to supporting women in advancing their careers. We use measures we have developed ourselves to promote their “quota-free” equal opportunity. Back in 2009, Sylvia Schröpl, our head of human resources, encouraged the women in our company to become active in a women’s network. Today the network is a fixed part of our company, and in 2012 they already held the 4th Club Pivot Women’s Networking Day. For example the women developed a concept comprised of 30 individual measures that pursues goals such as making it easier for women to move into management positions or take maternity leave without having a negative impact on their career. In addition, they also developed models for flexible working hours, self-marketing courses, and mentoring programs. In 2011 the project received an award for innovation from the VINCI S.A. corporate group. The European Social Fund (ESF) supported the project with several hundred thousand euros.
